In accordance with the Local Government Act 1972 Section 12, following the resignation with immediate effect of Misson Parish Clerk on 27th August 2024, Misson Parish Council notify that Parish Council Meetings cannot take place until an alternative proper officer is appointed. The Act requires MPC satisfy the need for a proper officer to authenticate a summons to a meeting of the Parish Council.

MPC will now take steps to appoint a temporary locum clerk to act as proper officer, who will also administrative recruitment of a new Parish Clerk. This means the meeting anticipated to take place on Wednesday September 4th cannot now be held.

Misson Parish Council Surgery is also suspended until a proper officer is in place, however the District Councillor will continue to hold his surgery on the dates announced. Updates to the current situation will be notified online at www.missonparishcouncil.gov.uk and on Parish Notice Boards. In the meantime, County and District matters can continue to be referred to cllr.tracey.taylor@nottscc.gov.uk and steven.pashley@cllr.bassetlaw.gov.uk respectively. Other queries can be sent to customer.services@bassetlaw.gov.uk and BDC will try to triage.
